Have you ever wondered what a filling machine is or how it works? Or, have you ever asked yourself how your favorite beverage gets packed in bottles?
A filling machine, also known as filler, plays a very important role in packaging lines of all shapes and sizes. Not only do these machines fill products into bottles or containers, but also ensure their quality and effectiveness. The list of industries that use such machines is just endless. With the advent of the latest technologies, more and more machines are being used in the manufacturing units of different industries.
Since the need of different industries often varies, a line of different types of machines can be seen these days. All these fillers are used to fill different product types in bottles and containers of different types.
The level of automation and types of products used are the point of consideration for picking the right machines. You can even categorize them into two categories, namely: semi-automatic and fully automatic.
Types of filling machines as per product types:
You must have come across different types of filling machines on the market. Categorically these machines could be liquid filling machines, gas filling machines and adhesive machines.
Liquid filling machines: If we consider the working principle, these machines can be further divided into three machines, namely: ordinary, pressure and vacuum. These machines are based on a mechanism, where liquids are passed into containers because of their weight. Of course, the gravity plays a crucial role here, however, specific requirements have to be met to maintain the viscosity levels.
Gas filling machines: Similar to other filling machines, gas filling machines work to fill products but using a different mechanism. These machines have a booster pump, similar to a gas composer, that is helpful for creating pressure differences.
Adhesive machines: These machines are used for filling thick or sticky products. These machines work on a volumetric method for measuring and controlling the viscosity levels.
These are just some categories of filling machines. There could be more depending on what your point of consideration is.
All in all, the packaging industry is a growing industry and you’re likely to find machines on the latest technologies with each passing day.
